Meet the Workers Compensation Customer Relationships Team

Time
4 mins

We know workers compensation can be complex.

Which is why we reshaped CGU Workers Compensation under one team to provide a simpler experience for brokers and their clients.

Our unique end-to-end service model combines expert business development, underwriting, claims and operational functions which means we are with brokers and their clients for the whole process. It allows us to interact and make decisions with fewer touchpoints and provide an efficient service experience.

Tell us about yourself and your role

I’ve got three children aged 14, 11, and 6. They keep me on my toes. Add my husband (who’s my biggest supporter) and my two dogs and a cat into the mix, and it’s a crazy household.

I’ve got a passion for helping people and injury management with a background in exercise rehabilitation, having worked in an acute hospital setting followed by FIFO work as a health and lifestyle coordinator on a number of remote sites. I then moved into the worker’s compensation industry over 15 years ago across WA, NSW, and Victoria. I started out as a case manager before moving into injury management advisor and team leader roles, then into customer relationships.

As a Customer Relationship Specialist at CGU, my role provides a link between claims and underwriting, supporting clients and brokers with claims queries, training opportunities, and overall portfolio oversight.

Tell us about yourself and your role

I have lived in Western Australia for most of my life and growing up was a keen and very competitive sailor which is where I spent much of my childhood.  My career background started in hospitality. I was fortunate to become a young business owner of a Serviced Apartment Hotel in Southwest WA, providing me with over 15-years of business management and insights, influenced by a host of global challenges, success stories, and learning about many peoples’ lives and own journeys along the way.

I am always up for a challenge, and in 2012 my challenge to myself (in addition to running the Serviced Apartment Hotel) involved purchasing a WA Tavern that was in receivership. Having re-acquired the liquor licence, I went on to refurbish the venue, build the trade, and become profitable before successfully selling it again in 2015.

Following the sale of my accommodation business in 2020, I remained keen to focus my energy on sharing knowledge and experience with like-minded business owners.

Joining CGU as Customer Relationship Specialist, I am passionate about the role CGU takes in delivering Workers Compensation outcomes for our injured workers and insureds. My goal is to ensure that we are delivering exemplary customer service, sound injury management, and be a real support system whilst attaining or exceeding business goals.
